The Ennis Tennis and Badminton Club annual tennis club championship finals were completed on Sunday 20th of September. The event was sponsored by Paul Lynch & Partners, Solicitors. Tennis captain, Ray Cummins, ensured play continued on schedule throughout the two weeks and a series of top class matches took place
After glorious weather throughout, all competitions were completed and final stages were ready for Sunday. The number one position in the club has been cemented by Joaquim Pintao after he retained his title in a straight sets vitory over Jonathan King in the final of the A Gents Singles.
Top lady of the year is Rose Lambert after she secured a narrow victory over one of our up and coming juniors, Grace Darcy. Grace was one of a number of junior players invited to play in the senior championships this year. These juniors did themselves proud with two of the five finals in the “A” section having juniors represented in them.
