Community Games
It is planned to get a squad together from which a team will be selected to compete for Ennis in the Community Games at Under-15. Participants need to be under age on 31 July and eligible to play for Ennis. Tony Flynn (087-2467621) can be contacted with any queries. The first training session will take place this coming Friday 29 January at the club from 6.00-8.00pm and anybody eligible is welcome to come along.

Sunday 07 February – trials for Clare squads
Munster Badminton are holding a ‘B’ InterCounty Competition and an Under-11 InterCounty Competition on Sunday 28 March in UL (waiting on final confirmation of date and venue). This competition has already been held for U13A, U15A, and U17A, with Clare winning both the U13A and the U15A, and coming third at U17A. Now comes the chance for the Under-11’s, and for the next level of players at U13, U15, and U17, to have their shot at representing Clare.
The first-stage trials for the ‘B’ and Under-11 Clare squads are on in Clonlara on Sunday 07 February. U11 and U13B are from 11am to 1pm, and U15B and U17B are on from 2pm to 4pm.
The U11 trails are open to all under-11’s. The U13B and U15B are currently open to those that did not make, or did not try out for, the 'A' squads. In the U17 category, ‘A’ players can come to the trials as well, as numbers are short in this age category. For all age groups, you must be under the relevant age on 31.12.09.
We are really encouraging as many of our own eligible juniors as possible to go along for the trails – it is a great way of getting more competitive games and, you never know, you might yet get to play for your county.
Saturday 06 & Saturday 13 March - Munster Close Championships - UL
This is open to all juvenile players in Munster at Under-11, Under-13, Under-15 and Under-17, and there will be A and B sections. Further details and entry forms will be available closer to the date.
U11 and U15 competitions will be on 06 March, and U13 and U17 will be on 13 March.
Friday 02 April – Clare County Championships
Under-11 and Under-13 : Clonlara Under-15 and Under-17 : Scarriff. Further information and entry forms will be available closer to the date.
Saturday 17 & Sunday 18 April

Wednesday badminton for Juniors
Any juniors wishing to get extra games are welcome to come along to the club on Wednesdays from 4.30-5.30pm where supervised badminton is available at a cost of just Euro 2.00 for lights and shuttles.
Beginners Fun Event
It is anticipated that our club will host a fun event for juvenile beginners in Clare. It is likely that this will be limited to those who started badminton in the 2009/2010 season. Further details when available.
Individual coaching with Darryl Eade
Over the past couple of weeks, Darryl has very kindly been giving 15-minute individual coaching lessons to our Junior players and he will very shortly be available again to provide further lessons. Any Juniors who have not already had their 15-minute session can go on a waiting list and will be contacted when dates and times are finalized for the next sessions. To put a name on the waiting list, you should contact Hilary on 085-1649901 before Friday 29 January. There is no charge for the sessions.
